Al-Quds Bard Fellowship Program
Abu Dis, Palestine

The Program
Living and working in the West Bank from August 15, 2025 to June 15, 2026, Al-Quds Bard Fellows serve as full-time writing tutors and program support staff for Al-Quds Bard College for Arts and Sciences (AQB) undergraduate and MA programs.

Structured as a multi-faceted fellowship year, the fellowship provides an opportunity for expected and recent BA graduates of Al-Quds Bard College for Arts and Sciences (Abu Dis), Bard College (Annandale), and other institutions in the Bard College network to gain hands-on teaching and program development experience with the first dual-degree program between US and Palestinian institutions of higher education. AQB emphasizes student-centered learning, the development of independent inquiry, and the free exchange of ideas and AQB Fellows play an important role in facilitating such an environment on campus.

Who Can Apply?
AQB Fellowships are competitive and open to recent BA and MAT graduates of any major programs of study from AQB, Bard, or another institution within the Bard College network. Experience tutoring, writing, and computer and technical skills is strongly desired but not required. Similarly, knowledge of the region, or of Arabic, is an advantage but not required. The principal qualities AQB seeks in Fellows include maturity and social awareness, openness to other cultures, self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as a team, an interest in institution-building and taking initiative, and a strong sense of professionalism.

Fellowship Responsibilities
